Tanisa Foundation is a volunteer based, non profit organisation that is working in the field of cancer care for patients, survivors and caregivers. It was founded in April 2022 in the memory of Tanisa Dhingra to celebrate the person she was and to continue her work and legacy in the field of cancer care.
Tanisa was a happy, brave and resilient person, who was driven in her efforts to give back to the community. She was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer in 2016 at the age of 23. She fought strongly and with the support of her doctors and caregivers, she was in remission in the same year. She wanted to build the same support system for others facing similar struggles. Through 2017 to 2020, she held multiple events, workshops, webinars , was also invited to corporate events, schools, to talk about her journey. She worked relentlessly on organising events for Cancer patients that would focus on their mental well being, such as having day long events at Medanta in association with Indian Cancer Society. Tanisa was an inspiration to thousands of people. She would smile to make others smile.
Tanisa had a relapse in 2020, and after a long and hard battle, she succumbed to the disease on the 30th December 2021. We believe she is now amongst the brightest stars, looking upon us, protecting us and guiding us in continuing the work she began.
